    Sorry but to sing that song ya gotta have balls. She has no life or grit to her voice. Its quite boring its dragging and she is all over the place vocally. Very pitchy. This song is too big for her. As a singer ya gotta know voice! I love gospel music but my voice is not gospel material.

    The bass trb playing is at times rather crass but more than that the clags splits and constant rushing in the band is dreadful

    Band works well as a background and understands balance and dynamic control for a solo feature piece. Solo could be more expressive.

  • @joshclark5002
    @joshclark5002 4 года назад

    Josh- The tempo was under control the whole time, which is tricky. The band knew their place for dynamics, but still found ways to stand out without overpowering the singer. Clean articulations and lots of sheer energy by the rhythm section especially.

  • @joshclark5002
    @joshclark5002 4 года назад

    Josh- Did a great job balancing the singer with the jazz band. The singer made it really fun and energetic, but the band was obviously the highlight of this piece. Background dynamics were very well rehearsed. That trombonist is awesome!

    Keith - Great singing and low vibes, trumpet drowns out the rest of the band in chorus stuff, but they did have great solo's. Entrances didn't sound rushed one bit

    Claire: All the solos were well done and the balance will be nice throughout. We may have to be more careful about balance since there will be an instrumental solo instead of a singer. There is a nice build in dynamics towards the end.

  • @josiahpclark

    Josiah- I love the beginning of the song! GREAT entrances. And I think the band really balanced out so you could hear the singer well and still hear the instruments. There was a clear change in dynamics when the first verse started, and I loved the tempo through the song.

  • @josiahpclark

    Josiah- I don't think the band sounded great and well balanced at the beginning, but that they fixed it as they went on. I didn't think the singer went well with the band, but I think the feel they put out was really great.

  • @carriecox2360

    Carrie- The transitions between the different sections and especially between the solo sections were really smooth. The blending of the band and the singer was nicely balanced. I think the tone quality could have been improved at times, but that could just be due to the recording. I want to try to incorporate the steady, relaxed feel and tempo they had.

  • @josephqian5825

    Joseph - The band had good tone but most of the time the trumpets were drowned out by the rest of the band The saxophones played and articulated very well The drummer played on the toms a lot, which is something I want to incorporate into my playing on this song. I would also like to use the ride bell more on this song

  • @josephqian5825
    @josephqian5825 4 года назад

    Joseph - The band blended well with each other and the singer The piano, guitar, and trombone solos were very good and weren't too quiet The drummer added used the ride bell a little bit which I want to incorporate into my playing The dynamics and balance were very good

    Kaitlyn - I think the dynamics were great, I could definitely hear a contrast throughout the song. The articulation was good, I think in some places the accents could be stronger, but overall great! I would like to bring those stronger accents into the song while playing. The balance was okay, I could barley hear the saxes most of the times during the song, so bringing that out would make it better.

  • @kaitlynnovak7503
    @kaitlynnovak7503 4 года назад

    Kaitlyn - I think there was a great balance throughout the song, with the ensemble and with the vocalist as well. The tone was good as well as the tempo and blend. The dynamics were very well done as well, there was somewhat of a contrast, but I think there were a couple spots where it could of been softer. Great feel and style of the song! Overall, very well done, great performance!

    Keller - I think they did great! The melody intonation was good. Tempo felt great. The balance I did not think was too great. The saxophones got drowned out by the trumpets. Overall, they hit all the music elements with good accuracy. Maybe just bring the saxophones out a little more. The vocalist was unique, loved it!
